Epona – Goddess of Sovereignty/Leadership, Fertility (Celtic)

Greetings Dear Ones!  Come and listen to the message I have for you this day:

Now is the time for leaders to step up and lead with integrity, compassion, and love.  There are many types of leaders -  not just of countries or cities.  Although, these leaders must step up and remember a leader is one who is in service to those who follow.

Any group which gathers together has a leader, even if informal.  A coach of a soccer or little league team is a leader.  A dance teacher – for that matter any type of teacher – is a leader.  A business owner is a leader.  A supervisor is a leader.  Many serve as leaders and do not consider themselves as leaders.  A leader is anyone who guides the way, who sets the path for others to follow.

The world has need of strong leaders who guide their groups, of any kind, to be their best and highest potential.  Leaders need to encourage and inspire their groups to be and do the best they are capable of, with honor and respect.  This is possible even in a game of competition.  The players can act ethically, in integrity, with honor and respect for the other team players.  They can do this by playing fair and not cheating.

Business owners and leaders must remember to play their games of competition with dignity, honor, respect, and ethically.  Then all will win.  All will thrive.  Leaders of business hear my call and remember you serve your customers, you work with your vendors, your employees look to you to be fair and honest with them.  You, as the leader, set the tone for your business.  If your business is not what you’d like it to be.  If your employees and vendors seem to be trying to take advantage of you.  If your customers are not the quality and caliber you want.  If your employees do not give you honest work and constantly complain.  My Dear Ones, look in the mirror. They only follow the example you, as the leader, have set.

My gift of sovereignty is the gift of leadership which rules and leads in the manner that is in the best and highest good of all who follow.  My Dear Ones, lead with gentleness and compassion.  Listen to the needs of those who look to you for guidance.

Call upon me and my energy when you have need to lead a group and for the group to be a cohesive whole.  My totem is the horse.  By nature the horse is a “groupie” – they love and need to be part of the group, part of the herd.  But all herds have a leader.  My gift is the ability to lead a group, to keep the group together, and to create a feeling of safety and belonging within the group.

Many are looking for this sense of belonging, of being in a community.  It is time for the leaders among you to step up and create the groups and be the leader you know – or suspect – you are.

For those who are seeking a group, call on me.  I will guide you to the group – in whatever capacity you are looking for.  Whether it be the right work group, the right play group, or the right spiritual group, I will guide you to the one that is right for you.  There is a group, a place where you belong for everyone.  This too is my gift to you.

Come out of the dark and into the warmth of my stable and you will find the comfort, protection, and the group you seek.

Affirmations

I lead with integrity, love, compassion, and gentleness.

I lead my groups to act with honor and respect.

I step up to become the leader I am meant to be.

I open up to the guidance of finding the right group for me.

There is a group where I belong, and I find it with ease and grace.

Note:  Epona is best known as the horse Goddess of the Celts of Britain.  Her worship was the only Celtic Deity carried to Rome.  However, she is much more than a guardian of horses.  It was through her that the Kings of Britain were confirmed their sovereignty and right to rule.  She is also a Goddess of fertility and abundance and was one of the original Great Mother Goddesses of the Celts.  In the statute below, her fertility aspect is shown with her holding a bowl full of grain.
